One Day Clinics

I run clinics for a number of yards & would love to take on new clients.

I run clinics for a number of yards & would love to take on new clients. These clinics can be tailor made to suit your needs and can accommodate up to 8 people. I visit your yard & work with you and your horse. The day usually includes the following:

Get together coffee with Ice Breaker, I want to help you find out what you want from the Clinic.
Not everyone will have the same issue and this will give us all a chance to find out what we want to achieve
We will start with everyone having a go at a “connection” this is where you all take turns to go inside a ring with a pony and see how it & you behaves.
We have a go at “herding” learning about how horses move together and how we can learn from this.
We go through the “Clinic handout” and identify learnings to take away & practice.

After this your clinic is pretty much tailor made, we might cover connection work, confidence work, bomb proofing, problem solving such as loading, obstacles, & more specific areas that you want to resolve

You will get the chance to practice what you have learnt, either on your own or with your friends. The clinic is very flexible and by the end of the day I want you all to have met your objectives

I provide refreshments such as tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits & fruit for you clinic, please bring your own lunch, usually an informal picnic style suits everyone.

The Costs: A full day clinic costs £85 per person for a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8. I can offer a “Pairs Clinic” at £175 per person. Typically a day clinic would start at 10am & conclude at around 3.30pm but I try not to set a time limit.
What is more important is that we cover what is needed to help you and your horse.

Travelling:
Due to fuel costs I need to charge for travelling to your yard or stables and this is set at 45p per mile from Chapeltown in Sheffield. If you live a further afield please give me a call to discuss travel costs.

Pony Days

The clinics I run are not just for adults.

The clinics I run are not just for adults. I believe it is really important that children learn about their ponies behaviour, not only to get the most from their riding but also to stay safe. I run a number of pony days throughout the year, our activities include:

“Get to know each other” with some pony related games.
I want to help the child find out what they want to learn from the Day just like adults, every child is different & for some this may be about personal confidence

We talk about the “ponies & their environment”. Staying safe and learning to see what your pony is saying to you

We have a go at “painting your pony” this is all about building trust with your pony, allowing you to touch him & reassure him that he is safe.

We work with some “obstacles”, such as balloons and sheets, showing the child how they can build confidence in their pony

After this your clinic is pretty much tailor made, we might cover connection work, confidence work or bomb proofing

Each child receives a “Certificate” at the end of the day

I provide refreshments such as juice, tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits & fruit for you clinic, please ensure your child brings their own lunch, usually an informal picnic style suits everyone.

I am CRB checked & a trained First Aider, I am a qualified BHS Instructor also.

The Costs:
